If you have bought anything from the Scottish Rugby On-Line Ticket Centre (e.g. match ticket, series package, season pass, membership) or subscribed to one of our newsletter emails, you should be receiving regular emails from us. If you are NOT receiving these emails, here are some possible explanations:
1. No email address
You may not have provided an email address when purchasing your ticket/package/season pass. If you want to receive information related to your purchase and/or regular newsletters, please login to your account and add your email address to your contact details and tick the box opting in to receive such communications.
2. You haven’t opted in to receive emails
If you want to receive information related to your purchase and/or regular newsletters, please login to your account and add your email address to your contact details and tick the box opting in to receive such communications.
3. Messages are "bouncing"
This is when you are on our email list and we send you emails but they “bounce” back to us. There are two types of bounces:
- A soft bounce is when your Inbox is full and the message bounces back to us.
- A hard bounce is because there’s something wrong with your email address.
4. Your email address has been "suppressed"
Suppressions occur because we have been instructed by email providers (e.g. Outlook, Gmail, Yahoo) that their mail server at the time of dispatch has rejected our sender request. Scottish Rugby and our email specialist partner have an obligation to act upon these suppressions to ensure that we are compliant with data protection regulations, including the new General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) coming in to force in May. Here are the reasons why emails are suppressed:
- Address non-deliverable
The user part of the email address (before the @) is invalid, perhaps because it is spelt incorrectly (john.smitth) and/or does not exist on the domain, making it undeliverable. - Domain non-deliverable
The domain part of the email address (after the @) is invalid or does not exist, making it undeliverable. This could be due to it being spelt incorrectly (hotmal.co.uk) or if the domain no longer exists (fsmail.net)
- Login in to your Scottish Rugby account and make sure your email address is correct, making any amends if necessary.
- If the email address is correct, do the following two things:
- add the newsletter’s email address (e.g. donotreply@e.scottishrugby.org) on to your “Safe Senders” list, and
- send an email to marketing@sru.org.uk giving Scottish Rugby permission to send communications to your emails to your email address.
- Customer complaint
If you have flagged our emails as spam/junk your email address is automatically suppressed and unsubscribed from all our mailing lists.
- add the newsletter’s email address (e.g. donotreply@e.scottishrugby.org) on to your “Safe Senders” list, and
- send an email to marketing@sru.org.uk giving Scottish Rugby permission to send communications to your emails to your email address.
- Shared mailbox
This is when an email address is associated to a shared mailbox and not a named person (e.g. marketing@sru.org.uk or smithfamily@hotmail.co.uk). This type of email address cannot be used because it can’t be guaranteed that all recipients who have access to this inbox have provided the necessary consent granting Scottish Rugby permission to send them emails. - .Login in to your Scottish Rugby account and provide a personal email address.
