We’re making some changes to how clubs purchase tickets for international matches from April 2026.
As part of a wider review of all ticket sales for Scottish Rugby events, we’ve taken the opportunity to simplify the current club ticket process and ensure access is aligned with clubs and organisations that are actively supporting the growth and development of the game.
The same number of tickets will be available for clubs to buy, however, ticket limits are set per member not per club this time – more details below.
Our aim is simple: to make club ticket access clearer and easier to manage, while keeping tickets in the hands of genuine supporters and away from touts and those who exploit ticket prices through the secondary market.
What this means for your club
-
Club ticket access will be based on a tiered eligibility model
Playing clubs, recognised referee societies, and partner universities will continue to be eligible
Non‑playing clubs and organisations will no longer have access to the club ticket scheme
-
The purchasing process will be simpler
No reservation forms, allocations, or invoicing
Eligible members will buy tickets directly via a purchase link and secure access code
-
Tickets will be issued digitally by Scottish Rugby
All tickets will be delivered through the official ticketing app direct to the ticket buyer (no need for clubs to distribute tickets to ticket buyers)
Payment will be taken at the point of purchase
-
There will be anti- tout measures applied across all Scottish Rugby tickets going forward
Limits on ticket quantities per match
Restricted ticket transfers
Action taken where tickets are resold or misused
How will the new purchasing process work?
Club Ticket Secretaries update their ticket portals to add all new members and include latest contact name and email for current members (please note all member details must match the details held in their Scottish Rugby ticketing account)
Club Ticket Secretaries receive an exclusive secure access code for each fixture along with a purchase link
The link can be shared with eligible club members only
Members purchase tickets directly via the purchase link and by inputting the secure access code at the point of purchase
Payment is taken at checkout
Tickets are issued digitally via the official ticketing app to the member directly
There will be no manual reservations, allocations, or invoicing.
Allowing access for Club Members
There are a few steps you need to take before your club members can access tickets to buy. Your step-by-step guide is below:
Step 1 - Please ensure you have added all club members to your Club Ticket Portal, unsure how to add a club member, details on how to do this, can be found here.
Step 2 – Check all member details are up to date and match their Scottish Rugby ticketing account. If they do not have a Scottish Rugby ticketing account, they will have to create one to access tickets. Details on how to do this, can be found here
Step 3 – Send ticket purchase link, access code and “How to buy Club Tickets” video to all of your members:
Make sure you advise your members to create a Scottish Rugby ticketing account (if they don’t already have one) and log into their online ticketing account ahead of the sale opening to ensure they can access their account and tickets without any issues. You can find guidance on how to log in here: How do I access my Account Online? – Scottish Rugby
Step 4 – Relax, your job is complete.
Why are we making these changes?
The existing club ticket process has become increasingly manual and complex for all parties.
These changes will help us to:
Reduce administration for clubs and volunteers
Align club ticket access more closely with rugby participation and game development
Reduce the risk of tickets appearing on secondary markets
Who is eligible for club ticket access under the new policy?
From April 2026, club ticket access will be available to:
Playing clubs and recognised referee societies actively growing the game
Universities with formal rugby development partnerships
Non‑playing clubs and organisations, will no longer be eligible for the club ticket scheme.
Will there be ticket limits on purchases per match?
Yes, this is the same across all Scottish Rugby ticket types and fixtures, to help protect fairness and reduce misuse:
Limits will apply to the number of tickets that can be purchased per transaction
This may vary on a fixture‑by‑fixture basis
Can tickets be transferred?
Yes, tickets can be transferred but this will be restricted.
At least one ticket per order must remain non‑transferable in the purchaser’s app
Transfers outside the permitted process are not allowed
Can club tickets be resold?
No. Club tickets must not be:
Resold
Sold via secondary ticketing sites
Used for commercial or non‑genuine purposes
What happens if tickets are resold?
Where there is evidence of ticket resale, Scottish Rugby may:
Cancel tickets (without refund)
Remove future access to club ticket purchasing
Apply wider sanctions under ticketing terms and conditions
Will clubs still receive the same number of tickets?
The same number of tickets will be available for clubs to buy, however, ticket limits are set per member not per club this time.
The purchase link and secure access code enables access to an exclusive allocation of tickets only for club members. This is a protected allocation that only club members can purchase from (general public cannot access this allocation).
All tickets are subject to availability, eligibility and compliance with the policy.
