Scottish Rugby discourages supporters from purchasing tickets from anywhere other than official sources. In accordance with our Ticketing Terms & Conditions, NO ticket is permitted to be transferred or sold (or offered for transfer or sale) through any secondary ticketing service provider, auction site or website. Scottish Rugby will always provide details of any authorised ticket partners on our official website – if they are not listed, they are not authorised.
What’s the best way to ensure my tickets are official?
If you are looking to buy tickets for any Scottish Rugby event you should ALWAYS buy them directly from Scottish Rugby, or the only official partner sites listed below.
Any other sites or sellers not listed below are not official ticket sellers for Scottish Rugby events.
Scottish Rugby Tickets:
Scottish Rugby Online Ticket Centre at scottishrugbytickets.com.
Hospitality packages:
Purchase official hospitality through The Murrayfield Experience.
Travel packages (home or away):
If you’re looking for packages that include both travel and match tickets, book through the official Scottish Rugby Travel website.
Why are tickets available on secondary sites if it isn't permitted?
Any ticket being offered for sale on any secondary site is breaching the Ticketing Terms & Conditions.
The ticket is either available because a ticket “tout" has contravened the Terms & Conditions and is selling without authorisation, often at a vastly inflated price, or is a fraudulent listing where the seller does not hold a valid ticket to sell.
When Scottish Rugby becomes aware of tickets being sold by touts the tickets are likely to be made void (i.e cancelled by Scottish Rugby). These tickets do not give you the right to enter the stadium to watch the match and can lead to you being denied entry into the ground or removed from the stadium. It should also be noted, if a ticket is packaged with hospitality, travel and/or accommodation that does not mean that the seller is authorised to sell such packages with tickets included.
In summary: If you buy a ticket from such an unauthorised source, whether an unauthorised website, online marketplace or a ticket tout outside the ground, you risk not being given entry to the match and losing the money you paid.
From our experience, supporters buying from ticket touts have experienced the following:
- the tickets they bought from the tout were fake and they were not allowed entry;
- their tickets were cancelled by Scottish Rugby as it was discovered they had been sold on the secondary market;
- they did not receive a match ticket at all from the person they bought it from;
- their bank details and other personal information used in the transaction with the tout were compromised.
Whilst we can only discuss the details of the account with the ticket purchaser (you are not the original ticket purchaser) we can easily tell if a ticket is valid. Touts often sell a ticket multiple times, meaning that it is not possible for us to guarantee entry into the ground on the day.
Warning signs!
- Heavily-inflated match ticket prices.
- Match tickets on sale many months before the date of the match.
- Exact location of the seats not confirmed (no stand, row or seat number).
- Large volumes of tickets being on offer for the most high-profile matches.
- Being required to collect the tickets from a hotel, or a location that is not the stadium.
- Being required to return the tickets after the match.
- Statements that the website selling the tickets is not affiliated to Scottish Rugby, or is unofficial.
What is Scottish Rugby doing to combat ticket touts?
Scottish Rugby's ticketing team works hard to prevent the sale of tickets to anyone other than genuine Scotland fans. Thorough checks are carried out post-purchase and anyone deemed to be in breach of the Ticketing Terms and Conditions is contacted and their transaction subject to review. Any tickets found to have been purchased with the intention to re-sell on the secondary market are refunded and returned to sale for genuine fans to purchase.
If in doubt, give us a shout!
If you are in any doubt whatsoever, please check with us before purchasing tickets. Buying from unauthorised sources can leave real fans out of pocket, or, worse still, outside the stadium on matchday unable to watch the game.
If you have suffered a negative experience, or have information on unauthorised ticketing activities that you wish to share in confidence, please contact us directly.
Scottish Rugby wants you to enjoy your match experience in comfort and safety and to ensure that the ticket you buy is genuine. The ONLY WAY to guarantee you are obtaining official match tickets is by purchasing directly from Scottish Rugby.
